This device is a heavy-duty motorized industrial garage door opener (commonly referred to in the industry as a commercial jackshaft operator). Instead of pulling a door along a central rail like a standard residential garage door opener, this machine mounts directly to the wall on either the left or right side of a door. It connects directly to the door's solid overhead torsion shaft to rotate the shaft and lift the door.
