Also referred to as a rotating positive-displacement pump. This pump compresses gas by a rotating impeller in a housing. Liquid is fed into the housing and the centrifugal force created by the rotating impellers forms a liquid ring. The ring creates a series of seals in the space between the impeller vanes, which form compression chambers.
