Each tank car was built with a 304L stainless steel tank within a 7/16″ thick carbon steel outer tank.
Insulation between the inner and the outer tanks: 10″ polyurethane foam with a thermal conductivity of .15 BTU-in/hr.
All cars are equipped with a stainless steel 6″ Keystone butterfly valve bottom outlets.
Top arrangement is a 20 bolt pressure plate with 3″ stainless steel ball valve and 35 psi safety valve.

Coors Brewing utilized cars for shipping non-pasteurized temperature-sensitive beer concentrate with a range of 32°-34°F. In the 14-day transit time from Colorado to Virginia they were only experiencing a temperature loss of 1°-2°F
Tank cars were built by Union from 1986-1991.
